Have a look at Phil Goodacre's blog a couple of months ago and some others around then... I'll try and find some links for you, Katie.
ok
18th July & 27th Sept on Phil Goodacre's
22nd and 27th Sept on mine. Also see this: http://www.youthspecialties.com/articles/topics/pastpresentfuture/colonising.pdf
That's my quick pick.
Also worth searching blogger and technorati for tags.
Hope this helps.
Sarah
p.s. Say "hi" to the Wycombe Youth For Christ gang there!
thanks Sarah...thats really helpful...
well thanks for the traffic sarah.
ooooh yfc staff conference. 'happy' days.....
i think that the diagram i link to on youthblog is a really helpful one.
there was also an issue of 'perspectives' some time back on youth.....?
by the way katie - is this a set question for cym, or is it something you have chosen to study?
i'd be really interested to hear what cym students make of this question....i think its something the 'field' of youth 'whatever' needs to think this one through.
i know it sounds a bit anal, but in the past, and sometimes still, i get really pissed off by if people refer to me as one thing, when i see myself as more the other.
oooh, another question katie, whats the general consensus been within cym, students as well as lecturers? have any distinctions been made? what texts are you being referred to....or is that the reason why your asking here?
Hi Phil...
am writing a journal on it for the professional formation competence... its something i want to explore!
no real study has gone into it in cym particularly...but i want to explore why i do what i do, what my aims are, what my passions/motivations are...?? What am i building/investing in??
gonna try and get my head around some of it this week...though is there a clear cut answer...i don't think so!!
anyway i need to finish packing..i'll blog my thoughts on my return!
It's probably not too helpful, but I have observed that two people who do pretty much the same role might use the different terms. I've come to the conclusion that there is no hard and fast definitions, people will pick and choose according to their own preconceptions, and then get bogged down in semantics!
