"how does an individuals identity affect the way they learn and respond to a learning environment...?"
Its a question i'm answering for a CYM journal...a question i've come up with voluntarily...but it's been really interesting to trace recently in my young people the types of settings and activities they best respond to...and i want to look at where their identity fits into this and affects this...
any thoughts, reflections, experiences...???

Its not an answer - and it may not be helpful - but my first reaction is to turn it round the other way. If adolesence is about identity formation, them how does the way someone learns and the environments they're "forced" to learn in affect their identity? I know that is a in danger of becoming a "chicken and egg", but I wonder which way round it is and what the interplay is between learning, environment and identity?
It depends what you want them to know. It depends what assumptions you make about what you think they know to start with. It depends whether they have respect for you and think there is anything to learn form you in the first place. It depends . . .
