Easter
Well once I've finished recuperating for my nasty cold I shall be planning our Maundy Thursday sleep over vigil thingy (catchy title, huh?). I was just wondering. What is everyone else doing with young people to mark Easter?
We'll be taking part in the main Maundy Thursday service then making hot cross buns, having and agape (based on the Iona version) , watching the Lion the Withc and the wardrobe and taking part in the watch through the night. Apparently we might even be playing a part in changing the floral display Gethsemane Garden into the starkness of the prison in our chapel.
Then on the Friday after sleeping late we're going to join the ecumenical walk of witness through the town.
What are the rest of you doing?

Last year we had an awesome Good Friday. We started by taking part in the Act of Witness on our local estate (organised by out Church's outreach centre). Then we returned to the Church for lunch before we moved to a time of meditation/preparation, before watching The Passion of the Christ, followed by reflection and discussion. A really powerful and special day.
This year I was hoping to organise a discussion-based activity based on the questions/comments which came up during out Lent study. Sadly the study discussions haven't been great so far - so I don't think the Good Friday discussion will happen - shame.
So the only thing we're doing over the weekend (besides attending our Easter Service) is our monthly cross-Church youth event (The Hub) on Easter Sunday evening.

i'm running a holiday club starting tomorrow night...monday through to thursday as outreach to young people in the local area of the church i work at...
its in quite a deprived area of the city, i've got lots planned..gonna be a big week...
we're ending on thursday night..sharing a meal together and telling and acting out the easter story...
i want to see about 50 young people fill the hall this week...praying that God would really move!
