In the Pink

Ben has invited me to join his burgeoning community here on Reluctant Soul (hopefully the change in font will show you it's not him!) and as Ben is so fond of quotations and is currently exploring how we might form community on this blog I thought a quick quotation about community would be good. I've found something aposite from a rather unlikely source:

"God creates men but they choose each other."
Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527)

Although perhaps this from American theologian Howard Thurman (1900-1981) is better:

"Community cannot for long feed on itself; it can only flourish with the coming of others from beyond, their unknown and undiscovered brothers."
